Hello From Colorado Sports Photography.  Tamara Russell and Paul Shepardson each have over 10 years of professional photography experience and have been photographing athletes together since 2020.  This partnership allows us to offer a different sports experience for local Denver area High Schools.

We utilize both Traditional and Composite styles of photography.

Tamara is a graphic designer with a master’s degree in photography.

Paul is a professionally trained sports and portrait photographer.

We both share a passion for high-quality imagery.

We both devote a substantial amount of time to continuing education, workshops, and individual research to keep current on the latest technology and trends in the industry.

Combined, we cover all levels of action- “sportrait” photography - Youth, HS, NCAA, and beyond.

We use the highest quality of equipment - Cameras, Lenses, Studio Lighting, Light Modifiers.

Tamara Russell

Hi! I am Tamara Russell and I have been a Professional Photographer for 15+ years.  I am also a Graphic Designer.  My passions for both of these overlapping Digital Media fields give me a way to create and practice both crafts. This is where the Montage and Composite photography come together with my passion for photography.  I love taking everyday action and portraiture photos and creating a photo that highlights the athlete/students passions and skills in one place. 

The spring is a special time of year, I have been doing Youth Sports Banners for 15 years, it all started with a single Cooperstown Banner.  Today I specialize in Backstop Banners for several local organizations.  It fills my passion to create new backgrounds and see the players progressing in a sport we share a passion for, year after year.  

I have 3 boys who played multiple sports between them through collegiate levels, this is where the sports action photography took root a mere 23 years ago.  Today I covers all levels and kind of Sporting Events as well.  Tamara is also the Team and Individual photographer for South Denver area High and Middle Schools.  Sports are an integral part of my life and passions.

Paul Shepardson

Paul Shepardson

Paul Shepardson is a professional/free-lance photographer in Colorado. He has been doing photography professionally for over 10 years. Paul has always had a passion for photography. 

Paul started to transform his passion into a business when his father (an avid baseball player and fan) was unable to see his two grandsons play baseball due to health reasons. Paul photographed his sons’ games and provided images to his dad each week so his father could view them from his home in Minnesota. Paul also shared these images with his sons’ teammates/parents and through word of mouth, Paul Shepardson Photography was born. 

Paul regularly hones his craft and studies photography with some of the most well known photographers in the industry.  by attending workshops around the US for all aspects of photography. He has a great passion and drive for photography.

Paul is also part of the CBS Sports/MaxPreps Professional Photographer’s Network.  He covers all levels of Colorado High school Sports and is now the team action sports photographer for several Denver area High School and NCAA sports teams in the Denver Metro Area.
